This monument, built in 1985, pays tribute to Goulburn and the surrounding district’s fine wool industry. Standing at a massive 15m high and 18m long, and a total weight coming in at 97 tonnes, the Big Merino has been based off Rambo, a stud Ram from the local Goulburn property ‘Bullamallita’.
Whilst you are there, make sure to visit The Big Merino gift shop, offering a beautiful range of quality gift wear, souvenirs, and accessories made of course from fine Australian merino wool.
